*I sent everyone an email just letting you know I will put one more scholastic book order in before Christmas. It will be on Thursday Dec. 5.
**December is full of different activities, please check out our classroom calendar to see what’s coming up!
***If you don’t own skates, please make sure you are trying to ask neighbours, cousins, friends if you can borrow any, as our class is going to be going skating on December 11th! Children will also need a helmet. (Bike helmet is fine.)
Math- Students looked at Ellie the equal poster. They learned all about balanced and unbalanced things.
French- Ms. Murdoch
Arts Ed- Students watched their One Love green screen video.
Daily 5 Centres- I have started re-testing some students who I think have shown growth in the last few months. If they come home and tell you their new level, that means they are now allowed to take home that level of home reading, and their Raz Kids will be updated. Reminder that our Raz Kids teacher login is dmaley and their password is abc.
Phys Ed- We did a whole bunch of balance stations today. The kids balanced balls on a badminton racket, they tried to hold their arms and legs off the ground on an exercise ball, they walked on a balance beam, and they balanced a bean bag on a body part.
Quiet Time- Declan, our helper of the day, picked a shark book for us to read.
*SCC Holiday plant orders have arrived. If you need to pick up your order, you should pick them up between 12-7 on Thursday, November 28th, at 6939 Maple Vista Dr.
*This Friday is now Western Day in honour of agribition. Our school is going to be dressing up like cowboys and cowgirls. Students can wear their best western inspired clothes.
*Today our class won a class pizza party for selling the most coupon books! So way to go! We will be choosing a December date soon, and we will let you know which day you don’t have to bring a lunch!
Math- Students learned about equality. They learned the 3 symbols to show equal/unequal
Library- Ms. Preece
Arts Ed- Ms. Hendry
Makerspace- Students were asked to create something useful that hangs today. They had to problem solve and try and work with different tools/materials to do this!
Phys Ed- The students had a listening game today. They had to follow the instructions (similar to Simon says), but then they had to grab the cone when I said cone! They had a great time. After that we played different soldier/doctor games with the cones.
Star of the week- We had Kaden’s star of the week circle today.
*SCC Subway lunch tomorrow
** Here are the pictures I have been sent from yesterday’s field trip! If you came as a helper, and you have some pictures, you can send them my way! Thanks!
