Math Carpet Time

Notes- Today the students handed in their math homework. (If they didn’t finish last week’s corrections or assignments, it is still in their backpack). Those that were here on picture day also got their picture proofs.

Math Centres- We learned a new centre today called Domino parking lot. It works with subitizing to 12. I worked with small groups on patterning!

Snack

Social- We had an awesome opportunity to Zoom/Facetime some community helpers today! We called our school resource officer, Constable Strueby and asked him some questions about how he helps the community. We also called our red bus driver, Shelley and asked her about her help with the community!

We will be starting a First Nations unit this month, and so the students listened to a couple books on Epic that talk about Indigenous peoples.

ELA Carpet Time

Daily 5- Read to self- We made it to 4 minutes today.

Listen to Reading- Mrs. Maley read a book called “If You’re Thankful and You Know It.” The students really enjoyed it, and they told someone beside them what they were thankful for.

Work on Writing- Today the students journaled. They were allowed to write about whatever they wanted. However, if they didn’t know what to write about, I gave them a prompt that they could follow. It said, “I am thankful for…”

*Just a reminder that the student’s take home folder needs to “live in their backpack.” Please don’t take it out and leave it at home as this is going to help the students keep track of all mail and notes! Thanks!
