Math Carpet Time

Notes- I didn’t quite get everyone’s math marked last week on Train Day, so some of the math duotangs I sent home today to work on homework! It would have a little sticker on the front that says, “corrections.”

Math Centres- We added a new math centre today called Osmo Numbers.

Snack

Social Studies- We started our First Nations Unit. Today we talked about Turtle Island and the traditional ways of our First Nation’s people. The students learned about the buffalo, and some traditional FN dwellings. If they didn’t quite finish colouring their buffalo picture, I told them they could take it home to finish and bring it back tomorrow.

Home Time

*Can you double check with your child that they have headphones? (Even just the dollar store ear buds are fine). I seem to be getting a lot of students borrowing mine every day. I have a couple extras for this purpose, but it’s probably not the best that students are sharing headphones as often as they are. If you know you didn’t send any this year, could you send a pair for your child? We do use them quite often! Thanks!
