Math Centres- We are moving onto a new equality unit, so the students are learning the beginnings of addition and subtraction/things that are equal.

Snack

Science- We watched the beginnings of a video called “The Secret World of Plants.” The kids got to learn about some really neat plants on this earth. They picked their favourite one and drew a picture of it. If they didn’t have time to finish colouring, I told them they could take it home for homework.

ELA Carpet Time

Daily 5 Listen to Reading- I read a Robert Munsch book called, “From Far Away” today. It talks about a newcomer to Canada trying to figure out Halloween/the decorations etc.

Word Work stamina- We worked with the sight word, “away” today.

Read to Self-4 minutes

Listen to Reading- The students were able to use Epic, Raz Kids, or iPod books.

Home Time

*We have been given direction from the division that we are NOT allowed to hand out candy/special treats this year on our Halloween dress up day this Friday. If you want to bring your child their *own* treat for Friday, we will have a time in the afternoon where we can have an “eat your own treat” time. Students are allowed to dress up as long as their costume does not have weapons.
