The students have switched table/carpet spots and their mini classroom cohorts have now changed for the month.
Math Carpet Time- Eve was our helper today.
Makerspace- Instead of play centres, the students got creative during Makerspace today. Makerspace is an hour a week where the students are allowed to create/make. Today’s medium was paper. I brought every colour of paper into the classroom, and they were allowed to create/make anything they wanted. I challenged them to create something useful if they could, but this was a time to just be creative and make!
ELA Carpet Time
Daily 5 Listen to Reading- I started reading the students a chapter book today! Throughout November and December, we are going to be reading The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. This was one of my favourite books as a child, and every year I do it with a class, they absolutely love it. Once we are finished the entire book, we will watch the movie as a class. So please don’t show your child this movie in the next two months if you can help it! If they have already seen it, no worries! There is still a lot in the book that isn’t in the movie.
Daily 5 Centres- I worked with leveled guided reading groups.
Phys Ed- I assessed the students on their tossing and throwing skills today. These marks will be in Parent Portal Grade book soon! They were asked to toss a beanbag (underhand) to a partner and then catch it on its return.
Health- The students worked on their “words of respect” Seesaw activity.
*This Friday is Plainsview dress up day. The students can wear Plainsview gear, or black/blue/white.
