*Starting tomorrow, Ms. Parker is going to be teaching for the month of November. Rather than a blog post, she is going to try out something called a Wakelet. I will post the link on the blog every day and you can follow along with the student’s learning on there!

**We sent home November book orders today. We had the kids go through and circle things that they would like. I highly suggest taking note of these and if you need any Christmas ideas, order through Scholastic! I have found that they are SO much cheaper than other places. I have even ordered all of my nieces and nephew’s presents through Scholastic. You can go online and do a search for age groups and put it on your order. If you decide to order something and you want me to keep it a secret from your child, just send me an email and I will hold the presents back for you to pick up secretly at conferences, or at another date. The due date for these orders will be Nov. 15th.

We have a few at the school that we lend out, but there are not a ton in little sizes. We will also be needing parent volunteers to come and help tie skates. So if you want to check our calendar please write in the dates and times so you can come! Thanks!

**Be mindful that we are going to be going skating in December, January, February and March of this year for Phys Ed.  I know not everyone owns skates, but if you could be asking friends and family now to see if you could borrow some, the dates we are going are on the calendar. You will also need a helmet. (Skating, or bike helmet).  I have taken my class every year I have taught grade 1 and 2, and I have to tell you how amazing it is to watch the students grow and learn. MANY of the students have never gone skating before, but by the end, they are all comfortable on the ice!

***Home reading- I forgot to mention this in my blog post yesterday! We have started home reading. How it works is that we will send home leveled books for your child to read to an adult or older brother/sister. You can use these books and/or Raz Kids which is also leveled. For every 10 minutes your child reads, an adult or older sibling can sign in one of the treasure map circles. When they reach the treasure chest, they get a prize.
